The Hammer Of Resistance Guild currently plays World of Warcraft on the Windrunner Realm, Star Wars Galaxies on the Bria Galaxy, and Lord of the Rings Online on the Firefoot Server. The Hammer of Resistance was founded in July 2003 on the Bria server in Star Wars Galaxies. We are still kicking around on The Bria server just a little as our my good personal friend, Spun Ruggi, was at the helm last I knew. We have always been an Alliance guild, even back in our SWG days. It just so happens that both games have an Alliance faction. We have had many ups and downs in our time together and many leaders along the way. One of our original leaders, Asrid, has pretty much retired from gaming it seems, but not before starting up an offshoot of some THOR on a WoW PvP server. The guild has been run by his 2 children on Dalvyngr Realm and from what many of the members who checked it from Windrunner thought, they were doing well. We are not really affiliated with them anymore, but good job guys and good luck. The other founding father of THOR, The'Black a.k.a ChefWilly, has joined up with Pierre a.k.a Longbowdk in our LOTRO chapter as Kinship Advisor.

Over the last few years, we have been building up a guild on the Windrunner Realm. Similar to the Bria server for SWG, Windrunner was the beta server for WoW. This means that when THOR came on the scene there were many guilds that were already well established and in the long run were very tough to compete with to gain members and sustain members. We still to this day have problems with these Uber guilds, but recently we have come together to form a great guild. We have exceeded 500 members at times and are still climbing. It has brought on a whole new rejuvenation to members old and new and with new new ideas coming together from officers and the council, we are bound to continue to improve. Keep your eye out for The Hammer of Resistance to become a big part of the Windrunner guild scene for long time to come.

Within the past few weeks, some of our oldest members forged ahead in the MMO world and decided to try out the Lord of the Rings online and have made a Kinship there. Our old friend Pierredk has created a guild and is running it under the name of Longbowdk. We are on the Firefoot server and any members are welcome to join in on the fun. Some THOR members have been checking it out and it seems like a pretty solid game. We will continue to support the LOTRO faction of THOR and wish them the best!

THOR is comprised of several chapters at this point and each is governed by similar rules. There shall be a leader to the guild who has either by choice created the guild in a game, or has been voted in or selected personally by the previous guild leader. We feel that a council is the fairest way to keep a balanced guild with no one person in control. Usually, the first 2 council members are chosen by the guild master and all proceeding are voted on. A majority vote must happen for any member to be voted in to the THOR Council. It is up to the games chapter to decide the final call on their own rules and this is by only means a guide. We look to provide our members with the most fair and enjoyable gaming experience possible and mainly just look to have a good time with friends. Be safe and happy gaming.
