Raiding IdeasIn order for us to progress as a guild we need to be a little better organized. Last week we did not even attempt a Kara run even though a lot of people asked whether or not we were doing it. To fix this problem we need to decide on a few things like which nights to raid, what times to raid because we are scattered all over, and which app we should use to schedule events (because GEM doesn't seem to work certain times). If we could lock down a time and date for these things I think it would help us retain people that want to progress in the game as well as get new people involved in what is going on. Here are some suggestions that I've come up with: (A) Schedule raids on the weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) and try to run Heroics during the week. Trying to raid during the week can be hard with work, school or being a mom and dad being a priority so maybe weekend raiding would work for you. As far as times go server time is Pacific Timezone so if you live on the East Coast it's a 3 hour difference. What times would you want to raid? Noon server time? 1pm? 4pm? Once the days have been hammered out we can figure out what times worked best. (B) Schedule one raid during the week and a few on weekends. One guild I belonged to raided on Tuesdays and the weekend. A weekly event would go up...people would sign up and then you'd go. Pretty cut and dry. Again if this choice is decided upon then we can hammer out times to do the raids. (C) Raid twice during the week and once on weekends. This is somewhat the same thing as option B but instead we could raid on mondays and wednesdays and then schedule something on a Saturday or Sunday. (D) Just not raid. Nothing more needs to be added to that option. Once we can get the particulars down we can discuss times to raid. Please make comments because even though I'm not in charge and technically a "noob" I want to help us all progress in the game. Let me know what you think. -Einarr |

Kara runs
I can only raid on tues/thurs, in the evenings. occasionally I will be available for a run on a saturday, but that is rare.
I will probably be spending less time playing wow in the near future. Real life is becoming more important.
On another note, we had a good run tonight, if you only consider that we managed to down attunmen and moroes. We weren't organized and there were 4 seperate occasions where someone wasn't standing where the needed to be and ended up pulling aggro- in Kara this is a very bad thing. I know part of it is just a lack of experience, and I know I'm lacking there, but some of it was just due to people not paying attention. Karazhan is a very serious instance, taking everything we can throw at it. We don't have the time to goof off while we're in there, nor do we have the time to devote to other guild matters while we're running the instance. It's a LOT harder to do than a regular 5-man, and it requires everyone to be on top of their game at all times while we're fighting. We need to come prepared (see Bey's post), we need to listen to the more experience players so we know how to handle the fights, and we need to FOCUS on our particular jobs while we're fighting.
We have a lot of work to do as a guild when it comes to personal self-dicipline, strategy, and learning how we all fight together. I want to actually clear Kara, but we won't ever get there unless we pull it together. I personally haven't ever seen this "Prince", but I would like to see him kissing the floor at the feet of THOR!

Raid Ideas
For me, I will likely be confined to Sat and Sun (days or nights) or Friday after 9 PM central. I will be able to do the occasional Tues or Wed but it is school dependent. Days are best on weekends but I have no probs either way. Many of us are on during Sat and Sun days but we never raid then. It might be a possibility for a main or alternate time. This summer, I will be dedicating more time to WoW but that is after May 5th. Until then, I will be fragmented, unfortunately. Just so all know, I have other chars besides Bubba as a Tank. I can bring in DPS galore in most classes as well, if needed. BTW, to make clear, I am in MN in US Central time.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of all the issues going on with raiding. I agree that there has been a severe lack of direction. Also the drama that has been going on in the guild lately is really getting to me. I feel like I am not free to talk anymore without getting some random person upset about anything, its irritating. I am at a loss as to what to do about anything right now.
about raiding time
As most of you are saying, yeah this guild need a bit more structure for those that want to raid, I would do 2 schedules, rotating each week. One week you raid during weekend then during the week, rotating each week. This could allow more people to go in karazhan. About gchat, i'm really with some of you. We cannot talk in gchat while we're in karazhan, it's not a normal 5man instance and require concentration.
For my availability, i can only raid during week, as i reserve my weekends for my childs and wife.
