New approach to guild event planning

I thought it would be a good idea to try some new things in regards to our event planning as it seems that neither GEM, or the website alone can continually get groups forming for us. I hope this new method works better and gets our momentum back again.

I will be trying to schedule events a bit more in advance to allow you all to have a bit more advanced warning that we are trying to get something together. I will also be mirroring GEM events onto the website and I ask all members who plan an event on Guild Event Manager to also post their event on the website. It is very simple now as I have added a quick link after you login on the left hand column.

You can also add cool content like screenshots, FRAPS videos you have posted on Youtube or Google video, and of course events. Hopefully in the future we can get some guild reporters that can post news stories for us on events and other guild happenings :)

There are many options available to get groups going so there should be no excuse for anyone to say they are unable find a group in our guild. For those looking for a more intense atmosphere, we also have a Teamspeak server which allows others to communicate verbally without having to type. It is similar to the WoW in-game voice, but much better quality so it works better for groups and overall chatting.

If we utilize the tools we have to communicate and find out when others can group, we will be much more successful in forming groups even if people are busy with real life things. I think that mirroring the dungeon/raid schedule online will be a big part in helping get things moving again as many seem busy lately. Perhaps if they knew something was going on by just visiting our website instead of logging into the game, we might just get some people logging in when otherwise they would not have known any event has happening. It would be really cool if Blizzard just made a chat client, but we always have next Christmas :)

I hope you all like my ideas for making the event planning process more successful and I hope that we can get more events happening on a regular basis, even if it is just a 5-man quest or dungeon that we have planned. All members have the ability to post events on the website as long as they have registered and all members have the ability to post an event in GEM.
